Having the best eye cream dark circles solution will help you take really good photographs. And if youre trying to break into the modeling business, you must be able to take really good pictures.
For this to happen, your eyes must be able to show emotion. They must be fierce. They have to be able to show your emotion.
Laugh with your eyes. Know how to seduce using your eyes. You have to persuade with your eyes.
Modeling, after all, is about selling not just yourself, but the product as well. You should do it effectively so that people will want to buy what's on you.
That is why lots of professional models focus a lot on their eyes. They make sure that no matter how heavy their makeup is, their eyes still come to life. They strive to stand out in a photograph full of other elements by using their eyes.
Have you watched Tyra Banks in her hit reality show Americas Next Top Model?
If theres anything shes kept saying over and over, its that top models should be able to smile with their eyes.
But how can you do that when you have dark spots under your eyes?
Wrinkles and dark eye bags are one of the most frustrating beauty problems girls encounter these days. This explains the high demand for cosmetic products that target the bags under your eyes.
Women struggling with these dark spots often times feel very conscious of their appearance. They look like they've been up all night, or they just came out of a very exhausting shift at work.
The last thing you'd want is for people to tell you how stressed out you look.
Your confidence will seriously be affected by having dark spots under the eyes. They will make you insecure. If you don't want to feel bad every single day, you have to do something right now.
There are tons of different eye cream products available in so many places. But quantity is not enough to give you quality results. You must get only the best product.
Use the best eye cream and you won't even notice your dark circles are already gone.
Find something that will not cause you irritation. Remember, the skin in the eye area is very sensitive. When using any type of cosmetic product, you have to ensure that you will not encounter any side effects as it would only give you more problems.
Doing research on the eye cream first can help you considerably reduce the risk of encountering aggravating effects.
The best eye cream dark circles solutions will not cause harmful effects. The one thing it will do is to give you the results you want-eliminate dark spots and wrinkles under the eye.
And when your eyes are bright and free from any dark spots, you'll then be ready for your close up and be on your way to modeling stardom.

QUESTION:
Best eye cream for 18 yr old?
I'm looking for a standard sort of eye cream that is anti-aging. Something you can buy from the drug store, nothing too terribly fancy. Most of the eye creams that I've read reviews on from MakeUpAlley are all anti-wrinkle, helps dark circles, etc. etc. They're specifically formulated to fix certain problems. I don't have any of those problems around my eyes (yet) and so I'm really just looking for something to add to my skin care routine that would prevent or lessen the effects of those problems.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks for your help!Oh p.s. I've tried only one eye cream, it was like L'oreal Genesis Preventive whatever. It was awful; irritated my eyes and made my eyelids shrink.
I normally don't have that sensitive of skin though, just as a reference.-
ANSWER:
origins makes the best eye creme by far. it has caffeine to wake up the under eye area and boost circulation, also standard moisturization.

QUESTION:
What is the best eye cream or methods to use to reduce tired looking eyes/bags under eyes?
I'm looking for a cream or product you can buy in shops like Boots etc or even from UK websites. I would like to know your experiences of using different methods such as cucumber, eyemasks? I have constant bags under my eyes and I am 21 and everyone always comments how I look tired all the time. I'm not sure if it's because I'm short sighted and only wear my glasses in work, watching TV etc but not when I'm out and about and I'm wondering if this is the reason and if I should try contact lenses.
Thanks-
ANSWER:
I use Avon Anew eye cream with SPF during the day and Haven by Planet Earth rose eye cream at night, I'm not really sure if it has helped me though. You can use a concealer to hide your eyebags and brighten up your eyes - Almay has a line called Bright Eyes that's especially for that purpose. QUESTION:
Beauty Care What is the best eye, face, and/or lip creams you have ever used?
I am curious to know what would you recommend? I am looking for an eye cream (for slight wrinkles around and under), a face cream (for tone and moisture), and a lip moisturizer/enhancer. I am not able to afford the really pricey stuff, just products I can buy in a local store. I love to learn random beauty techinques that people do that's "just their own" too.
Thanks for your time!!-
ANSWER:
Well I don't know if my reccomendations will be of any use to you because I have oily skin (dont know what skin type you have, so it may not be beneficial). But anyways, for eye creams, I use Mary Kay's Firming Eye Cream (around or somethingm - but it lasts forever, I've had mine for about 2 years now and I use it almost every night) because I want that area moisturized.
For facial moisturizer,I use Mary Kay's Time Wise face moisturizer for Oily-Combo skin types ( or so - again, it lasts forever). For lip balm, I switch back and forth between Victoria's secret Beauty Rush lip balm (.50) and Mary Kay's Satin Lips lip balm ( I think). Sorry if my reccomendations are out of your price range, but really, they last so long, you end up saving the money.

QUESTION:
What are the best cleanser, toner, moisturizer, lotion, eye cream, and firming cream?
Hi, I'm 17 and I've been doing a lot of research on skin care. According to this article http://www.clear-skin.net/a/healthy-skin/How-Young-is-Too-Young-to-Use-Anti-Aging-Products-_680.html , the only things I need for healthy skin care as a teen are:
1) Cleanser
2) Toner
3) MoisturizerSo I want to know what are the best ones that are affordable (that I can buy from Sephora, CVS, Target, Clinique, etc.).
Also, I would like to know the best:
4) [Body] Lotion
5) Eye cream [I have dark eye circles (not wrinkles, just discoloration)]
6) Firming cream/lotion [good for early prep for anti-aging]So I basically want to buy 6 things and want the Best/Recommended Brands for each. Thank you so much in advance [will choose best answer]
Please do not recommend cosmetic products such as concealer or foundation.
********PLEASE READ*********
I DO NOT HAVE ACNE PROBLEMS. I HAVE NORMAL/DRY SKIN. I JUST WANT TO TAKE CARE OF MY SKIN STARTING NOW SO AS TO START EARLY IN ANTI-AGING (it's never too early guys!) This article inspired me to start now: http://www.more.com/2018/8385-japanese-women-don-t-get-wrinkles-
ANSWER:
first of all, you need to know what kind of skin you have: oily, dry, combination/normal, or sensitive. oily and dry are pretty straight forward, combination/normal is like the t-zone (forehead and nose) tends to be oily and your cheeks tend to be dry, or you may just feel like normal, neither oily nor dry. for sensitive, if you haven't used any other products before, skin care or make-up, you may not notice you have really sensitive skin or not. If you use some regular skin care or make-up and you skin always feels itch, or becomes red, or if you don't use any, your skin is really thin and you could see all those tiny veins, or if some areas of your skin have breakouts (you should treat them gently) maybe you have sensitive skin. But if you are not to sure, you can always see your physician.
once you know what type of skin you have, you could choose the products that fits your skin. They are normally labelled what kind of skin they are for, so you won't use dry skin products to treat your oily skin =)
I could tell you what im using right now, but honestly, even though many people have the same type of skin (eg. combination, like me), still, not every products will suits every person who gets this skin type.
1) Cleanser i use st.ives olive oil and apricot(usually in drug stores) they dry my skin a little bit, i think.
2) Toner i use Kiel's cucumber alcohol-free, you always want you get an alcohol-free toner, because yes, if they get alcohol in them, they will seem reduce your pores. but they are still not good for you skin.
3) Moisturizer also Kiel's, i don't quite like it, actually i bought a lot of different moisturizer, but i like none of them, so ill keep trying
4) [Body] Lotion the body shop, the body cream are the best, they really moisturize your skin, or if you don't like them, just use extra virgin olive oil to wash your body and apply common lotion
5) Eye cream [I have dark eye circles (not wrinkles, just discoloration)] see a pro =p
6) Firming cream/lotion [good for early prep for anti-aging] i use the carrot eye cream, cause carrots are good for your eyes

QUESTION:
Who here has used several eye creams for wrinkles and wich do you think works the best ?
I have tried a few but haven't found any yet that have great results. I don't want to keep buying eye cremes to find out wich is the best as it can be expensive. I just want one that actually does what it says it will do. Any help in this department would greatly be appreciated!-
ANSWER:
Ive tried quite a few because of my job (see below). Hopefully one of these products describes your problem! Here are my experiences....Prevage Eye by Elizabeth Arden and Allergan- Its not cheap (), but it reverses sun damage. It also maintains your collagen level. Highly recommended and great if you're in the early stages of losing firmness.
Ceramide Plump Perfect by Elizabeth Arden- It actually firms the eye area, plus it has an SPF. The SPF is actually encapsulated so that people who tend to be allergic to regular SPF ingredients aren't allergic to this one.
Ceramide Capsules for Eye by Elizabeth Arden- They are meant to be used before your eye moisturizer. They use ceramides to strengthen your eye area. Best results are when they are used with Ceramide Plump Perfect. (see above)
All About Eyes by Clinique- It will only help with puffiness. It won't work on wrinkles.
Intervene Eye (new) by Elizabeth Arden- Its a gel-like creme. It will help keep you maintained at your current level, but won't actually firm.
Resilience Lift Eye by Estee Lauder- Its a very heavy firming eye creme. It does work.
Absolu Eye by Lancome- It is also a very heavy creme. It contains wild yam extract. It does firm but I would only recommend it to someone 50+.
Renergie Microlift by Lancome- Great for the first wrinkles! It helps to tighten the eye area.
Here are some other good things for you to know....
Never use your face moisturizers on your eye area. It will cause puffiness.
Never use facial cleansers on your eye area. It will cause puffiness. Instead use an eye makeup remover.
Keep your eye cremes in your refrigerator. It will automatically de-puff your eyes when you use it.
Only apply a small pea sized amount. Anything more than that is too much. Less is more in this case. If you do that, most eye cremes should last you 6+ months. Plus using too much can again cause puffiness.
Apply eye cremes using your ring fingers. Follow your bone structure around your eyes, but stay on the bone. Think of it like a figure 8, only turn the 8 on its side. Going too far toward your eye can later (because of body heat) make the creme go into your eye.
Using a good under eye, line concealing concealer can cover alot. Try Clinique's Line Smoothing concealer.
Using a white or silver (depending on your style) eye pencil on the inside corner of your eye; will draw attention away from any lines you have. Also it will give you a look of innocence!
Also keep in mind that for any product to work, you must use it religiously, A.M. and P.M.; or as the manufacturer recommends.
Hope I could help you!
Good Luck!

QUESTION:
What is the best anti-wrinkle cream I can buy in the UK?
I have only just turned 30 but I have wrinkles under my eyes and at the sides of my eyes. I'm fed up of everyone thinking I look alot older.Inside, I still feel younger than my actual age of 30. So like that, its like I'm a twenty-something trapped in a 45-year-old's body.
I' ve never smoked and I've always worn suncream in summer.
I've tried several moisterisers but the wrinkles still greet me in the morning and this morning, I actually threw my moisterising cream against the wall in temper (although I know it's wrong to lose my temper). If anyone can help me, I would be very pleased. Thank you.;

QUESTION:
What's the best way to exfoliate the skin around your eyes?
I have lots of stubborn-to-shift flakes stuck to the skin around my eyes but can't find an exfoliator that you can use around the eyes. I used moisturizing/anti wrinkle eye cream twice a day but to no avail.I'm English so please only offer products I can buy in England.
Thanks!!!!
-
ANSWER:
Hi the reason why they dont make an exfoliator for your eyes is because you are not suppose to use anything that harsh around the eye area at all as it can damage the skin around your eye as its so thin.To get it off I suggest using a damping the area around your eyes and using a mild make up remover as it contains conditoners or baby oil and gently rub the dead skin off and then rinse and follow with your eye cream.

QUESTION:
where can i buy powder concealer?
Hello, what do you think is the best concealer which gives smoothy and natural white skin under eye, is it liquid, cream or powder concealer. what is the best site to buy it?-
ANSWER:
Don't buy Powder!!!! I does not show up well! Especially on pimples, bumps, bruises, scratches or anything else. It makes it worse! It makes it look dry and does not blend in. Trust me. I got the best brand for it and it still looked horrible! I would defiantly go with cream or liquid. They are much easier and just give a clean pretty look! I personally like Cover girls Clean Liquid concealer. It doesn't clog your pours which makes it look better and it's so much better for your skin. You can buy them anywhere, even dollar general. You can get Cover Girls Clean makeup at Dollar general for a great deal for . At least for me that is and it should be pretty close to that price.
Hope I helped!

QUESTION:
Here is the best skin cream in the world.?
Completely natural, homemade recipe that is cheap and very effective.Best Anti Aging cream in the world, and completely natural.
4 parts Olive oil
2.5 parts shea butter (refined works best)
1 part grapeseed oil
Half part avocado oil
Quarter part jojoba oil
1 part rosewater or orange blossom waterThis recipe is brilliant as a moisturiser and if used after bathing, leaves the body very soft and moisturised. Basically it has all the benefits of oil but in the form of a cream so is very easily to apply. Only need to use a very small amount because it is very concentrated. Cheap to make because all the ingredients can be bought from most retail outlets except for shea butter and jojoba oil which is optional. Shea butter can be purchased quite cheaply now on the internet and provides the basic ingredient that will turn the oils into a cream.
Method:
In a bain marie (or a small bowl over hot water) place the shea butter with the olive oil and heat until it is completely melted. Take off the heat and add the other oils. Stir really well with a whisk. Slowly add the rosewater or orange blossom water whilst it is still very warm.
Now, as it cools, it will start to harden. In order to speed up the cooling, place the bowl in a fridge or somewhere really cool and keep whisking every few minutes until it is whipped up into a beautiful cream. If the mixture is allowed to cool naturally, this can take up to 3 hours to cool and whip up but if placed in a really cold area, it really speeds the process up. Very important to do a lot of whipping.
The cream/body butter lasts easily for over a year if kept in normal cool conditions in a clean jar, it will melt if placed somewhere hot but still works if you use it on your skin. All the ingredients have a natural preservative action so it does not need any preservatives but keep an eye on it if you make a batch to make sure there is no contamination. It doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals that will aggravate skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.
You can use other oils and almond oil works really well as the main ingredient. It is a really brilliant recipe and especially good in cold weather and for anti aging. If you reduce the amount of shea butter you can make a body milk but you might need to experiment a little. Great for presents as you can buy jars very easily online and make up your own labels and paste it on the jar. Retail of similar products are very expensive.

im just starting to wear makeup and im re-doing my hole bathroom
i need three different name brands for them all, if you can do them all just name as many as you can.-
ANSWER:
mascara:
-Clinique High Impact Mascara (in the dark green tube), this mascara is my everyday go-to mascara. It makes the lashes nice and thick looking (espacially at the base) so I never have to wear eyeliner on my upper lids. Also, it comes off completely with just water and doesn't smudge when it gets wet. This is nice because if it rains or your go swimming you won't end up with racoon eyes! the only bad thing about it is that it seems to really dry out my lashes, but to fix that i just put Vaseline on them at night after washing my face.
-L'Oreal Full Definition Voluminous Mascara (in the gold tube). I use this when i want to feel super sexy (lol). It makes the lashes nice and thick just like the clinique one but it also makes them look longer which is great! the only issue i have with this one is that it smears like crazy when it gets wet (i wore this one day and then went swimming.. bad idea looked like i got punched in the face!) and it is difficult to wash off without some sort of eye makeup remover. But it doesn't dry out your lashes so much like the other one.
-sorry i don't have a third mascaralipchaps:
-vaseline. that's all i can say. I have extremely dry chaped lips (so much so that i need to use prescription at night!) i have been to countless dermatologists and they all have told me the best thing to use is plain old vaseline! you can find vaseline in little tubes for your lips.
-For something with a little medication in it, many dermatologists have also recommended Aquaphor lip treatment ointment. I used to use this all the time until I got prescription. don't use this too much though because your lips may become dependant on it... so i say use this like once or twice a day and then vasaline throughout the rest of the day.
-And for protection from them sun, plain old Chapstick with SPF is perfect! I wouldn't get anything with color or flavor/scent in it just cause they can irritate the lips even more.lipsticks:
-because of my lip problems I only ever use Covergirl lipslicks. it is just the right amount of color and just the right amount of glossyness. it looks like a matte color (which i love) but then it also has a slight gloss to it that isn't too over the top. and the best thing about these.... they are like the cheapest lip stuff you can get at a drug store and they are awesome!coverup
-Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer. For years I had used a concealer stick or solid concealers that were so thick... until I found Netrogena 3-in-1. It is a cream in a small tube and it is a concealer, moisturizer, and sunscreen. This covers up my dark circles under my eyes like nothing else and it is so light!!! plus it doesn't dry out the delicate skin around your eyes like other concealers do and it also protects them from sun damage. Seriously the best product I have ever invested in and you can buy it at the drug store which is even better!!!!!hand/face cream
-hand cream: Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Hand Creame. This is a thick cream that I put on in the morning and then again at night and they keep my hands (and cuticles) super soft! I only need it once to last through the day and then again once at night. It is awesome, and like i said about my lips, i have extremely dry skin in general (so much so that I need prescription cremes) and using this cream twice a day allows me to not use my prescriptions all that much which is awesome. so definitely get this!
-face cream: Oil of Olay Complete All Day Moistuer Lotion SPF 15 Sensitive Skin. This Cream is light but extremely moisturizing. I have been using it since I was 13 (i am now 20 something) and would never think of changing! use t in the morning after you shower and before you put on any makeup and it is a great base and keeps your skin smooth. use it again at night after you wash your face. LOVE IT!Eye Shadow
-NYX, thats all I can reccommend. I have tried so many eyeshadows and for the price NYX is AWESOME! super pigmented and well made. these can be hard to find. some drug stores sell them but none where I live by, I get mine from Ulta but I bet other beauty supply places will have them too.sorry i don't have 3 for every category, and since i hardly wear eye liner i can't really give a good opinion of them (the few eyeliners i do have and use occasionally are from NYX and they are smooth and go on well... but i haven't tried anything else so i don't really know). i do hope this helps though! have fun shopping!

QUESTION:
i need help with what to buy?
i want a cream that you can buy in local shops like superdrug and boots for a price that people can afford.. i coped this information to see if it would help get the best cream please help, 10 points for best answerCheck the labels. You want something that contains Vitamin K, kojic acid and licorice extract. Both are natural lighteners. Vitamin K heals damage and constricts the capillaries that are showing through the thin under you eye.
Look for a professional strength product. Dermal K Clarifying cream, for example, used to only be available through a dermatologist (see resources below).
Consider Vita-K Solution gel, Puritan's Pride Vitamin K cream or Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue.
Compare prices and ingredients. Most Vitamin K products come in two ounce jars or tubes (see resources below).
Mix Vitamin K with a Vitamin A product. Apply a Vitamin A derivative such as retinol every other night. Scientists have found that combining the two is more effective at lightening dark
Ask your dermatologist for recommendations. She may be able to write you a prescription for a stronger Vitamin K cream.

QUESTION:
Can You Remove Eye Makeup With Just Water? And a Few Makeup Questions?
Hi everyone!OK, I'm new to makeup, I just started on it. OK, so, eye shadow is my favorite, but every time I wear it, when I try wash it off, it's so hard. I just take a cotton, put cold water in it, and just rub it really hard on my eyes. But, it really doesn't help at all. It just like, smears it everywhere then I have to rub even harder on my eyes and it hurts. And I've heard that you can use baby oil, and I'm not sure if I have one. And is there any good like, products for eye makeup remover I can buy?
By the way, I think this is the baby oil I have, is this one I can use?

1. What does eye cream do?
2. When putting eye shadow, do you always have to use a base?
3. Are eye pigments like eye shadow?
4. Do you also have to use a foundation every time before you put on any makeup?
5. What are some really good makeup brands?OK, as I said, I'm REALLY, REALLY new to makeup, I don't know a lot of stuff, so yeah. 10 points for best answer! Thanks! =D

ANSWER:
=D hey yuuki chan XD cool i dont use much make up but i guess i know about it lol .Hey how old are you? the first tym i used makeup was when i was 11 when i graduated but i dont use it daily.. anywaysYes you can use baby oil, i love eyeshadow too, its my fav XD . I use baby oil to remove eye shadow, its much much easier.
Just put a dab of baby oil on some cotton and gently rub it on your eye lids, it'll be clean in no time =)
1. What does eye cream do?
=== depends on what kind of eye cream, most of the time their used to prevent wrinkles near the eyes and stuff, they're basically moisturizers, the only difference is that its safe to use around the eyes compared to regular moisturizers.
2. When putting eye shadow, do you always have to use a base?
=== Not really, i dont use eyeshadow bases and nothing wrong happens to my eyeshadow, if you want to, you can use liquid concealer istead of base, it works well too
3. Are eye pigments like eye shadow?
=== Kind of, but pigments are darker and brighter, plus they do not stick to your skin when you apply them if that makes sense.
4. Do you also have to use a foundation every time before you put on any makeup?
=== Nope, foundation is used to cover up any imperfection such as red spots and acne to even out skin tone, if your skin tone is even and you feel like you dont need to cover up much or very little. You dont need to use it.
5. What are some really good makeup brands?
===estee lauder but its kind of expensive
===loreal is nice too
===Mac is very good
===Mary KayI dont really use much makeup >.>" no time to, but when i do use them for parties etc. mostly Mary Kay and Mac, estee lauder for the eye shadow ^-^ anyways.. thats all =D hope i helped
-.-' people give alot of thumbs downs here..

QUESTION:
Adverse effects of an eyelift cream?
Well my best friend was suffering from a mild case of undereye bags and dark lines, and decided to buy some l'oreal eye lift cream. She's 15 and I told her not to use it, but she still did, and it worked for the first 2 days, and then last night, the night before a big concert, she put tons of the stuff on, and woke up to a horrible pair of swollen eyes, her bags were huge, and she looked like she felt terrible. She's stuck at home, "sick", and doesn't know what to do. I told her to get lots of sleep and drink a lot of water, but is their any advice you guys can give me to extend to her? Has anyone experienced something like this? Thank you!
Edit:
She wants to get rid of the problem and avoid masking it with anything. .
Thank you!-
ANSWER:
the same thing happened to me with that loreal eye cream!
i hate it!
i woke up with huge puffy eyes it was terrible!
i had to go to work that day so what i did was ice my eyes, gently rubbing an ice cube all around my eyes then stopping for a few minutes and repeating that for about a half hour then leave your eyes alone and go to bed.
when you wake up your eyes won't be all the way normal but they'll be better(maybe still a little puffy) but the swelling will go down eventually later in the day.
tell your friend i'm sorry & feel better!

QUESTION:
Clinique makeup & Skincare?
was wondering what Clinique products are everyones favs? Incase I am missing out on something! I would like to try some of the latest items but can't afford to try everything to find the best buys. I adore Clinique makeup it is my all time fav brand. In fact almost everything in my makeup bag comes from Clinique. Favs are the Clinique High Impact Mascara, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (seriously brilliant), Clinique All About Eyes cream and the Clinique lipglosses. Obviously Clinique is not cheap and sometimes I find the prices a little high, sometimes I buy the mini sizes when money is tight or I want to try new Clinique products without splashing the cash. You can get some bits from http://www.discount-cosmetics.net who deliver worldwide or sometimes Ebay is good for smaller sizes. I love Clinique and highly recommend trying it if you have not already, so which Clinique items do you recommend?-
ANSWER:
Favorites:
- Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. My mom actually introduced it to me. It's fantastic.
- Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. Great stuff. I have very dry skin.
- Quickliner For Eyes. Very nice. It doesn't pull or tug at your eyes
- Quick Corrector. I love their concealer.I'm looking into buying the Advanced Concealer.
- Lash Doubling Mascara. My new favorite mascara. Although, I want to try High Impact as well.

QUESTION:
What is the best skincare products you use?
My mum as brought me up to always cleanse, tone & moisturise & to always remove my make-up.
I used to be so religious with my routine but since been at university I have to admit I have become abit slack.
I still ALWAYS remove my make-up and use 'Clearasil stayclear perfecting wash' but I have become reliant on face wipes & dont always cleanse, tone, & moisturise twice a day.Ive also become abit of a fake tan addict which annonyingly gives me spots & clogs my pores.
I think I have combination skin as my pores are quite big & visible on my cheeks & nose but I have dry patches around my eyebrows & creases of my nose. I only really suffer with spots that appear underneath the skin, they can be soo painfull, I get them around my mouth & chin, occasionly on my cheeks.
Since ive moved back home my mum keeps gettin on at me about my skin so I want to start a fresh with a good simple routine.
I am just making a list of what Im going to buy but I just wondered what products you all use & would recomend?I want a good cleanser, toner & a moisturising day cream that has SPF in it & not too greasy, an eye cream, and a good night cream. Also a good face mask, exfoliater.
Any recomendations, tips or insight into your skincare routines would be fab - Cheers!
-
ANSWER:
Simple and neutrogena are excellent. Look at the back of the product, the ingredients- if the first ingredient is aqua then it wont be oily, it'll be good for your skin type. However, it's not so much about the products you use, but your lifestyle and cleansing routine:1.Wash your face twice a day with cleanser and toner. DONT use a facecloth, it spreads the bacteria! And when drying your face, pat dry with a clean towel, dont drag it over your skin cos again, it'll spread.
2.Keep your hair off your face, especially fringes and layers (spreading bacteria!).
3. Don't touch your face with your hands if you can help it, and dont let others touch it (again with the spreading!).
4. At night, tie back your hair and make sure you change your pillow case regularly.
5. If you wear make up, make sure to get rid of it all at night. In fact, try not to wear make up at all, give your face a chance to breathe. If you really cant go without it, then try at least one day a week, maybe if you're staying home.
6. For really red spots, use sudocreme at night to take away redness. Also, toothpaste- this does sting some people, though.
7. Drink LOTS of water every day! I mean, lots!
8. Watch your diet. Lots of sugar (even in fruit) is terrible for your skin, as is greasy fatty foods. Eat lots of vegetables, and again with the water!
9. Get at least 8 hours sleep every night to give you body a chance to rest and catch up.
Good luck!

ANSWER:
I think anyone who really knows and understands skin will start off with a few major tips which seem (too) simple but are most important and should not be discounted!-Drink plenty of water and omit/reduce diuretics from your diet which dry the body and your skin. (Soda, coffee, alchohol.)
-Do not to smoke or avoid smokers if you are around it regularly. I can often tell a person is a smoker by looking at their skin. It makes a HUGE impact.
-Exercise is very good for circulation.
-Get plenty of EFAs in your diet. Olive oil, fish, flax, avocado. In fact, make sure you're getting all of the nutrients necessary for healthy skin. (A, B-vits, C, D, E, aminos, minerals...)These seems simple but they are the PREREQUISITES to good skin. You can't have better skin if these are not completely fulfilled.
That's what you want-- a surge of blood, moisture, and oxygen so that your skin can repair ITSELF. Any other creams or lotions are temporary, superficial and expensive. They are not real solutions. They might make you feel like your making a difference, mentally, but they're really designed to take your money because you cannot actually improve your skin from the outside. (Not without creating a dependency on the product.) All the simple tips above have to do with encouraging your own body to produce new healthier skin cells from the inside. And, (bonus!) these solutions are cheap, easy, painless, and their benefits surpass an improvement in skin.
That is the 'procedure' part of your question.
So what about the 'product' part of your question?
Well, what is a product good for (aside from taking your money)?
One purpose is protection. The pigmentation, the blemishes, and the wrinkles you mention are all dramatically increased by sun/wind exposure. The best source of protection is a good hat, supplemented by a safe, quality sunscreen.
Another reason one might use a product is to cleanse it of pollutants that can irritate or clog your skin.
Let me share my honest belief: MOST of the skin products out there are designed to inadvertently CAUSE a dependency on them by causing chronic dryness, irritation, and leaving residues. Use your brain. Surfectants, waxes, and petroleum products are prolific in skincare products and none of them belong on your skin. Really, read the back of any of that crap and ask if they really belong on your skin! Don't say "oh, I don't know, I guess so because they say so." Use your brain-- they want to make money. The worse your skin is, the more your flock to the aisles for the "solution." Use your brain, and forget about money-making campaigns and consumer testimonials from people who are, literally, addicted to these products. If the ingredient on the back isn't something you'd put on your skin full strength, it doesn't belong on your skin at all. We don't pop out of our mothers requiring daily applications of sodium laurel sulfate or dibutyl phthalate or polyethylene, right?
So for a physical regime-- don't go overboard. Using/doing too much will confuse your skin as much as your brain. It can clog pores, leach moisture, overdry, irritate, and cost a TON.
Probably just cleanse once in a while and if the weather or heat (or lack of drinking water) are making your skin uncomfortably dry, try a simple moisturizer. Using a scrub or exfoliating manually once in a while will further encourage new skin cell growth to minimize rough/coarse looking skin.
If you're looking for a brand name, one that I've been generally impressed with is Aubrey Organics. I feel that they understand the processes of the body and skin and how to maintain a balance, and I feel they don't intend on messing with it. Their ingredients make sense. They just create products for us lazy folks who don't want to whip up an easy cleanser ourselves. For those of us who are too lazy work out the scent and consistency at home. Look at their ingredients-- its stuff you wouldn't mind to put on your face.
http://www.aubrey-organics.com/So here's the regimen: Drink lots of water. Don't smoke at all. Make sure your diet contains plenty of EFAs. Protect your skin from the sun. Cleanse lightly before bed. Moisturize if you feel you need it. Scrub 1-2 times a week in the shower.
Forget the rest of the propaganda. Save your money for fun.

QUESTION:
what should i buy to build up my make-up kit?
ok so Im a freshman in high school and I just have the basics and they are ALL drugstore(3 mascara's,2 stick liners,1 liquid liner,a powder compact, some cheapy eye shadow, and a liquid foundation/cream)and I don't really want to buy drugstore products anymore. I rather invest in good quality makeup. I don't what brand to go with though... Some I know of is Mac, Sephora, and Bare essentials. Also, I really i want to get all the tools(brushes, eyelash curlers, etc.)
so heres what I want you to do (if you don't mind, I would reallly appreciate it)What's the best brand?
Can you list all the kinds of make-up I should have?
List all the tools I should have?
and if you have any tips I would really appreciate itbtw
I have brown hair, light skin, and hazel/brown eyes-
ANSWER:
start of with a blush, foundation, and face powder. buy a lip color or two, eye liner, and eyeshadow buy the eyeshadow in a lil kit that comes with a variety of colors den build up from there.also buy a set of nice brushes if u clean them daily or weekly they can last you a very long time, you just need to take care of em which sounds weird but its also good for you skin to clean them daily.
mascara(i use maybelle and estee lauder all mascaras work great for me doesn't matter to be honest)
sephora - i love them because they have a huge variety of brands.
start of with buying foundation i personally use estee lauder which ive been using for almost 10 years now. there product just works so well for me. and the i use the same for face powder.(also ive been told its best to buy good quality for foundation and powder b/c it will keep your skin healthy and prevent breakouts)as for eyeliners u really can work with ur skin type, i would recommend some blue, purple, brown and black for nights out u. (urban decay has a really nice colors to choose from) as for the black liner i love mac
you need brushes(eye shadow 2-3 different sizes, blush, foundation brush, powder, and i have a jumbo one just for glitter on nites out) sephora has a bunch of sets you can pick from
lip color- i love doir lip glosses doesnt have a sticky feeling, i have all different types of lipsticks lik to try diff brands, and lip venom for plumping its a must have. as for a chapstick u can use doir addict lip glow which is one my favs it gives ur lips a very nice pink color and last on long also sugar lip products r great as well (i have the rose one, it leaves a light pink tint)
as for eyeshadows you really need light basics for everyday wear like pink, beige, golden, brown, soft colors work great for everyday. you can get a set of colors to wear from mac, sephora, and doir has beautiful colors in lil sets.
you'll need a blush or bronser depending on ur personally preference

QUESTION:
Family issues- Teen Depression. Help?
I grew up in a family that wouldn't be considered a normal family. My mom an dad are pretty much racist, they're strict. And all these things I don't want to go into. I recently- as much as I absolutely hate to admit it- I have started cutting. It's just- I don't want to come out to my parents. Every time they do something I absolutely hate or if they make me cry, I'll cut. And I don't want to go to my parents, I did strive to talk to my mom about things like the depression I was feeling and once the cutting first started- but I just couldn't. The reason behind it was that the only thing I talked deeply to her about, personal, was asking if my period was normal or not. She and my dad grew up and went to school in Poland, her views are so much different than people here in the US. The thing is, I LOVE to write. Whether it's random short one-shot stories, or long 53 page word documents, I ABSOLUTLY love to write. My parents think I spend hours on the internet looking up porn or something, so they've taken away my computer privileges to one hour a day, computer off by 7. A couple months ago, i was getting sort of chubby, about 10 pounds over the normal weight, and through the whole time, my mom was a complete BITCH about it. I have loved food for so long, and after my mom started talking about how skinny she was when she was my age, and how so much bigger I am at a size 4, even if I only ate one apple, and that's the only thing I ate all day, I would still feel like I ate way to much from what I'm supposed to eat. And everything has just started going downhill. I get really aggravated through this whole depression crap and my mom and dad get mad at me for it. She goes on about how I talk to my friend over AIM because my mom throws fits whenever I ask her once a week to drive me to the movies or something, and my parents think I talk to strangers. We live in a small condo, i get NO privacy at all. They'll waltz in at random times and go through my room, yelling at me for things. I gave my mom an Honor Society sheet she needs to sign, I made it because of great grades and all, she RIPPED it off the information sheet, signed it, gave me a dirty look for being on the computer and yelled at me for not being outside exercising and left the house. She's hypocritical, has no friends since she always finds the worst in a person and let's it take over the best, back stabs people.
So many other things she has done. I truly hate her. She only acts nice and kisses me around company. She nor my Dad haven’t said "I Love You" to me for as long as I can remember.
Every time she laughs or I hear her voice, I feel hatred and nothing else. She’ll complain about how they work for my needs and how we can’t afford to waste money on stupid things like snacks for lunch, and then she’ll go to target and buy anti-eye wrinkle creams for 22 dollars.
I really don't know what to do. I've come to thinking about suicide A LOT. Frequently.
Not a loving family either. Mom and Dad always bash about their own parents, my grandparents, my cousin got pregnant at 13, our family is even more screwed than that.
Not a loving family either. Mom and Dad always bash about their own parents, my grandparents, my cousin got pregnant at 13, our family is even more screwed than that.-
ANSWER:
Don't kill yourself because of the pain your awful parents put you through.Once you're an adult, you'll be free. You'll be more relaxed since you can control your own life. It seems like they're always looking over your shoulder and don't trust you.
I'm not going to tell you to talk to them. They most definitely wouldn't hear you out. It would be meaningless.
I used to cry my eyes out all the time because of my family problems. Fortunately for me, my parents are more understanding and carefree than yours.
Please, just wait it out or fight (though it would be futile and they would just punish you unfairly).
Email me if things happen. I may not understand the intensity of the pain you experience, but....I really feel for you....

QUESTION:
Does my boyfriend's best friend like me?
I'm not sure if it's just me, or something but yeah. I love my boyfriend so much, and I just find his best-friend just as hott as him, but I think he kinda likes me, like the first time we met was like, he bought ice cream, and I kissed my boyfriend and my BF took a lick of the ice cream (they're like brothers. It's really sweet) and his best friend licked it, and he told me "Hey, I just kissed you" and I just smiled at him since I don't know what to say to that. And I was drinking with my BF and his friends, and we were playing drinking games and he kept looking at me, like to the point where that's when I starting thinking "I think he likes me or something" and I got kinda drunk but still conscious of what was happening. And like, when I was still tipsy, everyone was saying that I'm better when I let loose (cause I'm usually shy as hell) and his best friend asked me "Do you have any like single friends for me?" and my BF was like "what are you looking for?" and he said "someone like her (and he pointed at me)" and I said I don't know anyone like me, cause it's true. And when I did get drunk already, we were at a friends condo, and what I recall is, his best friend like carrying me to the bed, and resting my head on the pillow, taking off my shoes.. and while we were walking I think he'd pat me on the head a few times, like a little kid. And when I was on the couch by myself, I couldn't remember where my boyfriend was... i think he was in the kitchen making me coffee, and his best friend like just sat next to me, and my eyes were blurry at the time but I remember he was just looking at me, and I usually do hand gestures when I'm drunk cause I get too lazy to talk, and he was just copying my hand gestures. It just a little.. i don't know how to describe the feeling, I'm flattered if he does like me, but at the same time I don't want it to happen cause I'm serious with my Boyfriend. I can't tell my BF what I think cause they've been best friends since they were 7, and we're like 16-17 now, Does he seem like he likes me??I just think he's cute that's all! Like even my boyfriend knows that, like when his best friend took off his shirt, I was looking at him, and my BF was like "You were just staring at ____" and I was like "No I wasn't" and he's like "Yes, you were, come on, it's cool if you think he's hott" and I said "Why? You think he's hott? Cause I'm totally cool with that"

QUESTION:
How to apply eye makeup for Asian eyes?
My eyes aren't small, but they're an extremely dark brown. I usually don't wear any eye makeup at all because I've never figured out how to and make it look good, and my makeup is usually very natural looking.I usually only wear foundation, little bits of concealer, mineral powder, and cream blush.
I've experimented with pencil eyeliner (Never tried gel/liquid eyeliner), eyeshadow, and mascara, but the mascara doesn't have an impact on my eyelashes (They're short, point down, and are coarse), and my mom's never bought me eyeshadow because she thinks I don't need it. I do have a small supply to experiment with, though.
Please suggest a super natural eye makeup routine (It can involve eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, etc.) I want my eyes to become the best feature on my face, especially considering that my nose is sort of big. /:
Picture of my eye! (So you can see what color tone my skin is, how dark/big my eye is, lashes, etc.) http://www.flickr.com/photos/58618768@N08/5574319181/
P.S. I really don't like the super thick black eyeliner that Asian girls have to draw on because they don't have a crease. I also don't like cat eyes or bright eyeshadows. I just want a SIMPLE, easy, NATURAL looking makeup routine for my eyes. I'm also not a big fan of the dark smoky eye, because a lot of eye makeup styles I've tried that involve dark colors just make my eyes look smaller. /:Thank you!

Allergic to dust mites. Allergic conjunctivitis wont go away!! Help or advice please =) 10 points best answer!?
Heyy
Has anyone else had this problem?? Or got any ideas or advice?? Sorry for the long question but I really need some help..I have had this since last june. It began when my eyes just started watering. Because of the time of year a few people thought it was heyfever so i took anti histamines and it did not go. My eyes began to go red and still were very watery.
I went to the doctors and they thought it was viral conjunctivitis so they gave me creams, drops etc and said it would go away..
Any ways long story short.. it didnt go away and i was referred to an eye specialist who gave me drops etc the same as the doctor. so no help really.
It still didnt go away, but infact got worse.. more watery, more redness, swelling of the eyelids, etc..
Back to the docs.. they said they had got it wrong. it was allergic conjunctivitis, but obviously didnt know what was causing it.
They gave me optive drops which helped and finally cleared just before christmas.
All was great until feb when it came back. This time it was red watery etc. but with dryness under my eyes. I tried the drops that previously solved the problem, but they haven't helped this time..
The doctors have finally given me some hydrocortisone cream for the under eyes, different anti histamines, and some diprobase for my under eyes. I have been referred to an allergy specialist and have been told im allergic to dust mites.
I have done everything they have told me to do to get rid of them. I bought a matrress protector, cleaned bedding, hoovered, polished, etc.. everything you can think of.. and my eyes are still the same.
9months later and it still hasnt gone completely.Anyone any ideas?? I have really had enough now. I cannot continue with my life properly until its sorted. Ps ive just turned 19 and its really getting me down. =(
Any advice or help would be really appreciated. 10 points for best answer..
Thanks =) XX

ANSWER:
If you are allergic tyo dust mites you may still need to do more cleaning at your house. The first thing you need to do is STOP hoovering!! All vacuums have an exhaust and spread dirty, filthy air back at you.
If you stop using a vacuum in your home, you may notice a difference with breathing and allergy issues.Stop using a dry dust cloth. Dust cloths do not eliminate dust. What you are doing is merely stirring the dust around and then it is resettling somewhere else.
Stop using brooms. Same deal, you aren't eliminating all of the dust, dirt and debris, you are stirring it up and it's resettling elsewhere. Use one of the wet products - personally I like the Swiffer but you might choose something else.

QUESTION:
I'm a teenager (14 years old). What sunblock is best for me that can be bought in the Philippines?
For my face? my body? I already bought Maxi-Peel Sunblock Cream with SPF20 last week. My mother scold me because may be it can damage my skin and I don't have any prescription by a dermatologist. She said when applying sunblock at day time, you must wash your face at night because the dirt/dust may easily stick to my face. But, I don't want to wash my face at night because it can damage my eyes because my eyes is so stress at night (studying, homework, reading, TV...) [Is it true?] And what product is best for me that can be bought in the Philippines?I just need sunblock because I'm afraid of the Ultra Violet Rays, etc. like what we discuss in Biology last year. (Integumentary System)
I'll appreciate your answer. Thank You and God Bless!

so many skin care products out there, can u help me to choose one which product will be good for my oily skin?
there are good brands for skin care like la mer, chanel, neutrogena, kiehls, etc, & it makes me confuse if i have 2buy things like cleanser, toner, moisturiser, eye cream. im using neutrogena cleanser, clean&clear toner and moisturiser right now, but the toner and moisturiser dont help me that much.
my mum said, that i better go to skin clinic, and let the doctor do the rest. but what i dont like about going to skin clinic is you'll have your great skin as long as u use the stuffs what the doctor give u, because once u stop using those stuffs, u will have ur dull skin back. and during the treatment you cant wear make-up.so wut do u think? should i go to skin clinic, or i just buy skin product from those brands?
so far, im thinking about la mer. but since it is quite expensive, i must think twice before i buy it because im afraid i'll get no result of using it.if u think i dont hv to go to skin clinic, wut is the best product for my oily skin?

QUESTION:
Why do stupid women spend so much money on beauty creams?
Seriously, why do women spend so much money on beauty creams? For example, my Cosmo magazine is advertising eye gels for dollars. Aren't people smart enough to realize that wrinkles are caused by exposure to the sun and pollutions? The best way to avoid skin damage is by wearing sunscrean and a hat! Exposure to the sun is like cooking in an oven. It will make you nice and brown, but you will dry up and wrinkle. Miracle creams are not going to reverse sun damage.
Be smart ladies, realise that skin care is basic. Keeping out of the sun, away from solariums is the best thing you can do to prevent wrinkles, not by buying a miracle gel.

ANSWER:
I like Maybelline's Mineral Power Foundation and Mineral Power Concealer. I use the color Light 4-5 (I think it's the darkest "light" color.) Both of these are of liquid consistency, inexpensive, and you can buy at any drugstore. I think if you want long-lasting coverage to cover your freckles, liquid foundation and concealer are the way to go.I'm not really a fan of loose powder foundation because I find them very messy, I like pressed powders better. I like it just to "set" the liquid foundation and to take away any shine the liquid foundation has given me.
But if you really want a loose powder foundation, make sure the pigments are very fine and you get the proper brush. If it looks like big balls of powder inside the container, its going to look obvious on your face. The proper brush will be a powder brush where the bristles are hard enough to grind the powders into fine pigments (i think its called a chisel brush). I like the brand Purminerals because they have great pressed powder foundations and the brush, is perfect for grinding the pigments into a fine powder. Unfortunately, you can't find it at drugstores, but you can try it out at Ulta. If you don't want to invest that much on that one you can experiment with Mineral Powders (they have both loose and pressed with or with out SPF, its up to you!) offered by the brand Physician's Formula that can be found at any drugstore.
Cream blush looks more natural and is way easier to apply than powder blush. I recommend Maybelline Dream Mousse blush, I have it in Soft Plum which is more a purply-pink and I have it in Rose Petal which is more of a peachy pink.
For eyeliners, I haven't found a drugstore eyeliner that works really well for me. :/
And for mascara, I would suggest brown for a more natural look, or if you like to be more dramatic get a black one. My personal favorite is Maybelline's Define-a-lash, the tube is bright lime green. its a lengthening mascara that has a very wet consistency. My lashes are long and full so I like mascara's that are more about defining and lengthening. But if you have short lashes a volumizing mascara like L'oreal's Volumous would work better.
I have the same problem that my lashes DON'T curl! But using an eyelash curler, has helped out tremendously. I got a tweezerman one that I found at CVS. It takes a lot of practice. And to get lasting curl you have to hold the curler really tight and for a longer time.
I also heard waterproof mascara's have alot of wax so they hold the curl more, but personally waterproof mascara's have not worked out for me. They release little dry fakes that irritate the eyes, and I never thought it looked nice.

QUESTION:
moms to teenagers, please help me!?
I am 16, and I need advise about my mother. I am not trying to talk down about her, everything I am saying is the truth, and the way I feel.My mom told me that she was abused by my grandmother, but I always remember her being the most loving person i the world. Even to my mom. So I am not sure if I should beliver her. But she always told me when I was little that she never wants to be anything like my grandma. but in my eyes, she is worse then any story I have heard abut her.
She is a very 2faced person. When my boyfriend is here, she will say "Rachel, your 16! Go out of the house! Have fun!" But when I ask her, she yells at me and says that all I do is think about myself, and I never do anything to help her. But I do! I clean the house (exept her room and bathroom), feed all the animals(dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, rats, turtles, birds, fish and ducks) cook for the family, clean up her messes and more. I do not understand why she does not see anything that I do! And If I forget something, like a rabbits water, she takes my phone, and grownds me for a week!
I do not feel like i can talk to her about ANYTHING. She does not know me at all. When she does cook, she makes food that I can not eat, so I end up not eating that day.And when she goes shopping, all she gets is ice cream and yogurt. She lays in bed all day and eats. And then she gets mad that my boyfriend brings me food. And when she sees that, she yells and says that he is pus*sy whipped.
She always calls me lazy, and dirty, and says that I do not do anything around the house or for anybody else.
Last night, we went to best buy, and she bought a big, flat screen tv, tivo, and more for her new room. And she just looked at me, and said... and I am not lying "you can have the old sh*t. you dont deserve anything nice."
One day she will tell me that she loves me more then anything in the world, and the next she will slap me, and tell me I am worthless. This has been going on science i was 5. We used to get into PHYSICAL fights. We both have scars from eachother, and when ever anybody rases their hand, I flinch. She always tells me that she is a good mom, but I am just the bad daughter. I am not going to say that i have not dont anything to her, i have yelled at her (but dosent every 16 year old). but thats all. She chaces me to my room, corners me, and says that if I say anything to her, she will rip the ring out of my lip and other stuff. And she always calls me fat. I wear a size 5 pants, and she MAKES me buy size 11. and size small shirts (medium sometimes becuse of my chest) and she makes me get a large. She makes me feel hoibal about myself. I actually cry myself to sleep, at 16 because of her.
Even when I am out of the house, she makes me come home at 10 on weeknights, and 12 on weekends, and if I am 2 minutes late, I am grounded for 2 days. I dont knkow what to do.
I have tried talking to her, and nothing works, she yells and says "well you will be 18 soon, so you can get the f**K out of this da*n house, and live yourlife without me! I am a darn good mom!" and walks away.
She never listens to anything I have to say. and I feel like I am just a slave in her house. something to clean, and cook.
How can I talk to my mom withought her getting mad? an effective way. I can not live like this for the next year and 6 months. Yes, I am counting down untill I can get out of here. My boyfriend already has a place for me to live when i am 18. (ohh.. any she tells me that she will call the cops on me if i try to move out when i am 18, and she will have me sent to jail)
I can not live like this. I feel worse and worse everyday. I need to talk to her, and i need things to change. I would live with my dad, but he has his own family, and I do not want to partude, adn i would miss all my friends and my animals.
PLEASE GIVE ME IDEAS ON HOW I CAN CHANGE THE WAY THINGS ARE IN MY HOUSE. I REALLY NEED THINGS TO CHANGE.
I do everything to make her happy. I wanted a baby sooo bad, and i got pregnant, but then she told me that I am never allowed to have kids, so I had to give up the baby that my boyfriend and i made. (i had to have an abortion) and it kills me everyday of my life! I cry at least every week about my baby boy!
I do not have family here, and she wont let me live with anyone but my dad.-
ANSWER:
Oh, dear. I'm so sorry. Maybe I'm not the best person to give you advice. At 13, but I feal bad.
1)its not your fault. She is a bad mother. No good mother hits you, or would call the cops on you for moving out, or tells you you don't deserve anything. God made you, you were no accident. You just got the worst of it
2)Talk to someone. A councilor, teacher, anyone. A good friend's mother. Your mother should go to jail.
3)Do you have a close relative. Maybe you could go live with her/him until you finish your schooling days.
4)You were to young to have a child, but still. An abortion is very, very far. You have a right to keep your baby, but do not feel bad. When you move out, have all the babies you want!
5)I have a friend, who lives just like you. Expect shes 14. her mom has kicked her out, and said things. But its not your fault! Go out and get a job, earn some money. But clothes that make you feal good! Because you are beautiful. I haven't even seen you and I just know. Look yourself in the mirror everyday and say I'm a strong and beautiful woman, and I deserve the best
6) I hope I helped you hon!

QUESTION:
Why are my Parents Awful people?
So I am 30 years old and had to move back in with my parents because I quit my job on a cruise ship- it was a real pain, 7 day work weeks and 12 hour shifts. Terrible stuff. Pay was okay but I'd rather be an artist at home, confide to my bed as I type thoughts, drinking ice water and nibbling on bananas.I hate that a lot of people assume if you're an adult, you are a moocher if you're living at home. Well welcome to 2011, where our economy is terrible and jobs are scarce. I keep looking for work but get turned down constantly, despite my degree and work experience.
One lazy afternoon around 2pm, my boring parents - both in their 60s - were sitting eating boring peanut butter sandwiches and drinking room temperature water. My Dad was blasting his annoying iTunes music on the speakers, mostly 70s and 80s rock and new age crap. I yawned and scratched my belly as I walked in the kitchen wearing my hipster skirt and purple sweater.
"I have an idea about what we can do tonight." My parents looked up, somewhat interested. My mother, reading a boring old book, sipped her water and then got up to get her bland coffee she was brewing.
"Let's go out! We can go see 'The King's Speech' downtown, get valet parking and buy popcorn and cherry soda. Its going to win the Oscar for best picture you know. After the movies, we can go out to dinner- that new restaurant on Michigan Avenue sounds great. And we can get valet parking there too. And then we can go to Girdie's for dessert. They have the best ice cream in the city." My eyes widened as I started thinking about what outfit I would wear, and how much butter I would put on my personal popcorn.
"Gail if you want something constructive to do, why don't you help me with some laundry and then find a book to read. And we have leftover split-pea soup and crackers for dinner. If you want something to eat now, there's peanut butter and apples." My mother bit into her sandwich and turned the page to her bland novel.
"Why can't we go to dinner and the movies?" I was very mad now. I whole plan was ruined.
"Whose going to pay for it?" Asked my grumpy ol' Dad.
"Well I figured you all could, since I am your fair daughter and I don't have a job. Come on, live a little! It wouldn't cost that much." My parents, though, dismissed my idea and told me to either change the subject or go to my room. I was so angry I began swearing under my breath as I entered my room. What assholes! They can't even take me to dinner! Why are my parents so cheap? And why did they dismiss my offer to go out?
-
ANSWER:
Sorry to be blunt, but sounds like you're a spoiled 30 year old who needs to find some friends her age that she can do things with.I live with my parents right now too (24) with my family due to financial reason as well. They're housing you and probably feeding you, so you can't expect them to do whatever you want when you want. If they're in their 60's... they've earned the right to do what makes them happy even if you think it's boring.
Grow up a tad.

QUESTION:
Best makeup/ moisturizer for sensitive skin?
I need skin help. I have very sensitive skin that is both oily and dry. I have been using bare escentuals and it works great in the way that i don't break out and i get natural coverage. the only thing is it tends to settle into the fine lines around my eyes. I am only 29 so i don't have many, but i don't like the way it looks. also, sometimes my skin on my forehead gets flaky from the makeup, even when I put moisturizer on. I guess it sounds like the BE doesn't work that great for me, but any liquid makeups make me break out. I bought a MAC concealer today as they have a wide variety of colors and am thinking of just using that to cover up under eye circles and not wearing a foundation..... I also use Clinique lotion which is good but not thick enough, but thick cream makes me break out..... i can't really find anything good yet, although i have tried. also i react badly to any fragrances, natural or artificial. okay.... what have you got for me??ps- getting married in the summer and i would like my skin to look really good!!

QUESTION:
What's the best make up color for me?
I'm going out to buy makeup tomorrow and I really need to know good colors. Everytime I ask the people there they try to get me to buy crazy things like revitalizing creams and all. I'm only 23! I dont need a wrinkle reducer!I've got "red" hair. More like Irish hair. It's orange, turns into a dirty blonde in the winter and golden in the summer (all based on how much sun it get, kinda neat really, everyone always thinks I dye it). I've got pale complection, not that milky white crap either, I got the faded freckle look goin on here. You can't see my eyebrows at all, I actually used to get teased for my "lack of eyebrows" when I was younger. They're there, they're just practically clear. I've got grey blue eyes, they dont stand out really. A round ovalish face (cherokee cheek bones too). And I've kinda got Bette Midler from Hocus Pocus lips so bright lipsticks are way out.
You know, if you think of all the features I just listed, I sound like a freak xD
Man that Dinah stuff looks awesome, does it smudge off if you rub your eye? I will definitely get that... eventually... when I can come up with the money for those machines and all...Maybe I should try Macy's for that make up thing. I've tried Belk's, but they put this stuff on my face for my rosacea and it ended up burning the crap out of my face lol. I guess I should've mentioned to the woman that I had psoriasis but I thought it was just a little cream cover up or something.
haha thanks all, sounds a lot better than how I did my makeup in high school (imaging hot pink and blue streaked hair, black and red eye shadow going all up my eyes and a red black lipgloss xD too bad my husband actually liked all that, it was too much work). I actually got a light brown and green last year. The brown was supposed to be one of those that are so light that theyre lighter than you skin, unfortunately, it was the same color as my skin and you couldnt see it lol. My husband likes the smokey eyes, but my mom flips out saying I need earth tones.Maybe a more contemporary color would be best. I just bought some old 50s style cat eye glasses, I think my mom is worrying that I'm going to go back to my "weird ways" as she called them

QUESTION:
how do i cover up a bruise on my face?
So yesterday, I was out playing tennis and my friend threw the ball at me and me being the klutz i am, i didn't hit it with the racket fast enough so it connected with my face instead. so now i have this large swollen bump on the side of my right eye. i tried putting ice on it, so it's somewhat less swollen but the skin is discolored and you can really notice it. the skin around my eye has turned a greenish color (i don't know if this has anything to do with my natural skin color) and there is a red mark right on the center of the bump which i'm guessing is a broken capillary or something. whatever it is, it hurts. school starts for me the day after tomorrow and i REALLY NEED something to cover it up since it's very noticeable. people have told me to use concealer and foundation, but i don't have any at home since i don't need any. so i don't know which kind is the best to buy. i've also heard there are different kinds of creams you can use to hide bruising. but i'm just not sure about anything yet. i would really, really appreciate any help you could give me! thank you in advance.-
ANSWER:
You just need to know the basics of camouflage make up. Basically, you can neutralise the unwanted colour by using the colour opposite it on the colour wheel over the top. So to get rid of green use a red/pink toned concealer and to get rid of red use a green toned concealer (generally a skin tones concealer is also used over the top). These products can be potentially expensive because the majority of them are professional. It really does depend how pigmented the discolouration is, you might be able to get away with not neutralising the colour and just using a heavy concealer over the top. MAC Studio Finish or Studio Sculpt are both fairly full coverage and might do the job.
But bare in mind that bruises change colour over time due to the break down of the blood under the skin which eventually turns to just bilirubin (which is the yellow substance which causes jaundice) so the coloured concealers you originally bought wont be as effective. Which makes buying a full coverage skin toned concealer (like MAC) seem even more feasible. These are just the methods that are used by MUAs on shoots

QUESTION:
did i do the right thing ending this relationship? I feel so hurt....?
Ive been with my bf for 1.5 years. We do not live together. We just had a baby (unplanned) 8 weeks ago. She is adorable. He's been by my side since my pregnancy and continues to come over three-four times a week to help out. However, we argue over money all the time and this has been going on since i have been 7 months pregnant b/c i had to cut down my hours to 32 hours a week from 36 hours. He stated, "the baby isnt born yet". So i continued to just hope for the best. Also, i bought all the baby stuff used and he paid for 1/2. We even bought a brand new dresser for the baby and he paid for half. Now that the baby is here, he did buy himself a new crib for his place and has boughten everything i need for the baby like diapers, formula (im breastfeeding 3-4 times a day still), wipes, monitor, thermometer, creams, lotions, babywash, and tylenol. Okay so he is helping out. But whenever i ask him for a bit of money, we argue. It sucks! I dont go back to work until mid october b/c im on maternity leave (60% of pay for only 6 weeks). So you can see why im asking for a little money. He finally gave me a large amount of money and i was very happy however, it came after lots of arguing and breaking up once. Now, i have 0.00 left. I was not intending to ask him for a dime until the end of october. With this money i bought some used baby stuff for my parents b/c they will also help babysit when ireturn to work, i bought some groceries, gas, doctors visit and toll, citizenship card and photo for baby, etc...you catch my gist. I have not bought anything for myself. I also paid some bills with themoney. for the past 2-3 weeks we have been getting along up until this morning when he told me he was seeing a lawyer to protect himself in case i decide to sue him for backpay with childsupport in the future. I was shocked!! He then told me that the only reason why i have been so nice to him is b/c of hte money he gave me. He said i was using him and that he wasnt made out of money. He then told me i have been abusive with him calling him names like "cheap" and how our relationship is dysfunctional. I was in tears. When he comes over, he has dinner ready, he showers here, cares for the baby, sleeps in my bed and goes to work. We havent had sex in ages!! His exuse has been he's too tired. He also got upset with me b/c i bought a used kitchen table for 0.00. the table is solid oak and worth over 00.00. I bought it b/c mine is 6 years old and very rickety and scratched. It was a great deal and my parents even brought it over for me. My bf stated that child support in his eyes does not mean buying furniture with it for me but only for the baby as well as items she needs. I told him that the baby also lives here and i will not live in poverity. I was shocked that he would say something like this over a table! I bought the table with my own money and after i told him that, he stated that i should be saving. I am returning back to work in four weeks and told him that i no longer want to argue with him anymore and i want to enjoy the rest of my maternity leave. I lost of respect for him today when he left to go to work. I have thanked him for everything he does for the baby and when he gets mad over money, he rubs it in my face. I called my lawyer today and am going to file for child support and get my full custody rights of my daughter. I also ended my relationship with him. I feel so bad b/c i love him but i cant deal with these issues anymore and want the bst for my daughter. I was hoping one day we would be married or living together and being a team but when he told me he was seeing a lawyer to protect himself, i realized there is no trust in this relationship. Do you think i did the right thing by calling my lawyer? or should i have waited to talk to him again? We have been trhough this already so many times in the last 2 months that im so tired of talking. Please tell me wha tyou think?
i didnt buy any stuff for my parents..i bought a table b/c mine was all scratched and the chairs were wobbling!! As far as birth control, we were careful and using condoms and i had tubal ligation scheduled!! Im not using my boyfriend at all!! It was the first time he gave me money in four months!!
sorry i did buy my parents a used crib and swing that were really cheap so that the baby is comfy whenim at work.-
ANSWER:
I think you did the right thing. Money should not be an issue before even living together if that like you said you 2 should be a team. You say you really love him but right now you need to think more on the baby than anything else. Good luck for all 3 of you .

QUESTION:
I'm writing a teen book? Suggestions, comments?
Well, I'm in high school, but I'm a published novelist. I typically write young adult and science fiction. I've even written some poems, but this time, I decided to go with something different. I was reading over some of my old Judy Blume books and I got inspired. I typically write about deeper stuff, but I was inspired and came up with a plot and a little bit of work last night. I'm trying to find that teen voice within me. Usually my stuff is more mature, so I do find it hard to write in this style, but I want to make something for young girls about life. On the surface, it's just some middle school girl, but a lot is going to happen. It's going to be called "The Truth About the L Word". This is what I wrote last night. Tell me how it sounds so far and don't be afraid to criticize, because this is the first time I'm writing something like this.Started with some big, disgusting kiss. I was there, throwing up next to them. Yuck! And to think, he was supposed to be mine. Whatever. I don’t need that mess of an awful kisser. Chloe is the worst friend a girl could ever ask for. Why should I ever speak to her again after what happened? I mean, really? Right in front of my face, they were kissing, if you can even call it that. And the truth is Chloe isn’t even as pretty as me. What does Gabe even see in her? And if that weren’t all, Chloe knew that I liked him. She totally, completely just broke girl code. Big violation. Kissing your best friend’s crush. And not even kissing him properly. Their kiss was a big, fat, sloppy mess. It was the absolute most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen.
My face was more red than I’d ever seen it when I ran into the bathroom to puke some more. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating just a tad bit when I say I puked. I didn’t really throw up or vomit or whatever you want to call it. I was just so angry that I didn’t know where else to go but the nearest bathroom. I looked myself in the eye, in the mirror of course, and whispered just in case anyone else was in there, “It’s okay, Lia. He’s gross anyway. You are way too good for him and that Chloe is a stupid, fat, ugly, horrible, no-good, terrible friend!” Obviously not my best day ever, but I still had to go back out there and act like a mature adult…a young, young, very young, adult.
Marley suddenly came in through the bathroom door, “What’s wrong with you? Aren’t you coming home with Arianna and I? You still are coming, right?”
I sighed and nodded my head.
“Well, why are you in here?”
“I’m just a little sick,” I lied, then fake coughed and said, “I don’t know if I’m feeling well enough to come with you guys tonight. I mean, isn’t Gabe coming with Chloe? They should have their alone time.”
She laughed and said, “I see, and Gabe has nothing to do with your sudden illness?”
I shook my head quickly, “Absolutely not. I’ve been really looking forward to hanging out with all of you, but now that they’re together it just doesn’t seem right to get in the way. Friends first, then boys. I really care about Chloe. She needs this time with her boyfriend. I heard my Mom say that the first few weeks of a relationship are the most crucial and who would I be to take that away from my bestest friend in the whole wide world, and you know how I am with friends, I mean I’m like the most caring and thoughtful and considerate when it comes to my girls, and you know how it is…”
She cut me off. I was obviously rambling. She laughed, “Chill out. I know you liked him. You’re probably really mad, but honestly…they love each other. You just weren’t his type.” I immediately scoffed.
Not his type? Really? And what about all those times underneath the sun during the summer and all the times at Reilly’s Café and sitting underneath the palm trees and buying ice cream and kissing endlessly and talking about running away together and spending the night in the backyard and crying on my shoulder when…I guess none of that happened, but still. We had some good times together. He seemed to really be into me. He seemed to care. I thought we would end up together this year. It’s our last year of middle school. Everyone knows what happens Freshman year. Everything changes. This is our last chance to finally make it work. And Chloe went and stole it from me.And as a side note, I'm going for a humorous coming of age tale. It's starting out as just some stereotypical teen girl problem, but it's going to end up with a lot of depth and perspective. Lia Martin is not just some teenage girl. She's got a lot of heart and I hope to bring out an exquisite personality in her as the book goes on.
Thanks for your time!
Self published. At first I started publishing through LuLu, which is a great site if you want to self-publish. After a year, I decided to make my own publishing company. Williamson Publishing. I mean, I'm still pretty indie, but I'm getting out there and growing my own company. I publish a few other locals with talent also. I'm getting a better deal than anyone else and it's what works for me. Obviously though, if some company right now offered to publish me, I wouldn't turn it down. The great thing about LuLu though, if you haven't heard of it before, is that you can do everything online. (It costs WAY more to publish in paper). They put your products on Amazon.com, iTunes, etc. and make it available for Kindle and other tech devices. You end up making way more profits. Good luck!
